I just spoke with Sherrie Wagenfeld in Central Office re: an email she'd sent me yesterday. If any members of our bargaining group plan to take advantage of the new domestic partner coverage provision, they need to contact Sherrie ASAP!
An application and a domestic partner affidavit must be completed and received by Anthem by August 17, 2010 in order for the coverage to go into effect on September 1, 2010. To quote Becky DuVal, our Anthem contact, " After that, members will need to wait until annual enrollment of 2011 to add their domestic partners." Please pass this info along to members you know who may be planning to take advantage of this new provision.
